The mission of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States is to  preserve and support the patriotic and historical interests of our country, our communities and our veterans; to strengthen the common bonds of the men and women who have served and who are currently serving in our military; to assist them and their families to enhance their quality of life; to maintain true allegiance to the Constitution and  laws of the United States of America and defend her from all enemies, whomsoever.

As Commander of VFW Post 3892 my main priorities are assisting veterans in need and expanding community outreach efforts in the City of Harker Heights and the whole of Bell County. To me, “No One Does More For Veterans” is not just a slogan, it is a standard that we are compelled to uphold. Our ongoing programs will continue to include volunteering to help homeless veterans, procuring services for veterans in need, providing space for PTSD therapy groups, and sponsoring our BSA Scout Troops, but this year we are expanding our initiatives.

Our community service goals for 2026-2027 are expanding to include providing veteran-specific assistance for veterans on hospice care, facilitating the “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program, donating needed items and clothing to the VA Hospital and outreach organizations, and assisting our Auxiliary in the many beneficial programs they provide for the community. We will also enhance the effort to honor the service members who came before us through the “Missing in America” project, attending unaccompanied veteran burials, and honoring military commemorative dates in the community to educate the public.

At VFW Post 3892 we are open to the public so whether you are a veteran, veteran family member, or a supporter, you are welcome to share in our camaraderie and fellowship as we continue our mission.
